Accidents and Incidents
During the development of the Javelin and its subsequent RAF service many were lost in accidents, although the overall accident rate was no worse than any other fighter aircraft of the period. Many of the cases involving the Javelin were similar to the incidents occurring to other types, however some were peculiar to the Javelin itself. This chapter looks at a number of the accidents and incidents that occurred, beginning with one of the first examples of an aerodynamic problem that affected a number of aircraft with T-tails
